Design periods in history: card designs

Students designed a set of greeting cards for the numbers 1 – 6 using historically inspired type and imagery from selected design periods in history. The brief described the context for the final images to be packaged and sold at gallery shops and bookstores that include a large art and design collection. The target audience were those interested in design history including architecture, interior and graphic design. Students experimented with a range of media, methods and materials including collage, coloured pencil, coloured markers, fine liners and gouache paint.
