The metropolitan city of Prismalyst is well known for its vast local caves which are filled with a wide variety of gemstones and crystals. These crystals allow light to shine through such that at various times during the day, the sunlight is able to refract, producing rays of different colours into the openings of the caves. The client; Damien Schmidt is the CEO of Public Transport Prisma, the city’s public transport company and has been for the last 20 years. Recently, the client has received an influx of feedback from Prismalyst’s residents, complaining about the lack of connectivity between train lines in the city centre and the quality of the train carriages themselves. After consulting the local government, the client has been made aware of the slight decline in tourism profits and a noticeable decrease in the number of residents taking public transport. As a result, he has requested for a revamp of Prisma Central Station and all 220 of its six-carriage train sets to reflect the city’s iconic crystalline attractions more vibrantly in an attempt to appeal to residents while also linking various train lines around the city to improve accessibility to the outer suburbs.

Presentation One

The client requires a revamp of the current Prisma Central Station to improve the connectivity between train lines, efficiently traversing commuters around the city, while incorporating attributes correlating to the local caves’ crystalline features.

Presentation Two

The client requires a change in the design of the current public transport train carriages to appeal to tourists while also weaving in crystalline features or detailing geometric patterns or tessellations to the exterior of the carriage.
