I created a coming-of-age and nostalgia-themed music video for “Roaring Twenties” by Annika Bennett, using an abstract storytelling style to explore the fear and uncertainty of growing up. The video expresses these emotions through a montage structure and symbolic editing codes, including nostalgic colour filters and transitions that represent the passage of time. The narrative follows a circular structure, beginning and ending with a birthday scene to symbolise growth, change, and reflection. Through the integration of symbolic and technical codes such as colour, acting, and mise-en-scène, the video communicates the emotional complexity of adolescence, combining feelings of sadness, happiness, excitement, and apprehension. It was intended for young adults who can relate to the transitional experiences of growing up
