Sleepless explores the emotional journey of young adulthood through themes of addiction, heartbreak, rebellion, and isolation. Inspired by Dutch Melrose’s lyrics, it follows a young woman’s mental and emotional descent after a toxic relationship, portrayed through fragmented scenes of parties, city streets, and a desolate beach.

The non-linear narrative mirrors disorientation, while grunge-inspired visuals, unstable neon lighting and distorted camera work evoke intoxication and instability. Reds, pinks, blues, and purple lighting symbolise anger, nostalgia, depression, and rebellion, immersing viewers in the protagonist’s fractured state.

Sleepless resonates with viewers drawn to raw, emotionally charged storytelling and expressive visual styles. It offers both reflection and catharsis, encouraging audiences to engage with the complexities of mental health, isolation, and self-discovery. Ultimately, it invites viewers to confront emotional struggle and the search for connection within a dark yet hopeful visual journey.
