THE LOST THING: Sculpture

In this project, students interpreted the pictures and story from a short-animated film named ‘The Lost Thing’. The film has a distinct focus on a young man wading through a dystopian existence until he stumbles across and large distinctive creature trying to find itself in an environment in which it is not suited to.
Students were asked to create their very own ‘Lost thing’ by using a paper-mache technique as well as recycled items and acrylic paints. Each creature was designed with a purpose in mind and a backstory which gave perspective on its belonging.
