Altair Estate at Mornington Peninsula

Unit 3 and 4 Visual Communication Design
SAT Folio and final presentations

My client, Sebastian Hawthorne, is an emerging winemaker establishing Altair Estate, a contemporary winery on the Mornington Peninsula. He requires the design of an architectural space that reflects his passion for sculptural and sustainable design, while providing an immersive and tactile experience for visitors. The design must merge agricultural traditions with modern minimalism and respond to the surrounding vineyard landscape through its form and visual language.

Communication Need 1:
The design of a functional and sculptural winery that integrates sustainable materials and natural light. It must reflect a connection to the Mornington Peninsula’s agricultural heritage while creating an engaging sensory experience through touch-based architecture and spatial flow.

Communication Need 2:
The creation of a visual identity for Altair Estate that reflects the winery’s architectural language, values and regional setting. The branding must communicate refinement and authenticity through a minimalist logo, typography and packaging design that unites the winery’s architecture and brand presence.
